Groundislava put on a good show at the Waldorf (RIP) a long time ago and now we’ve got him back at Fortune opening for oOoOO. I had never heard of this cat but once I hit his Soundcloud up I was blown away. The first track “Stay Here” ft ML had a lovely but dark vibe that kept me listening. His LP “WIthout Your Love” comes out June 24th on Nighjt Feelings, check out Lava’s soundcloud here. One of my personal favorite collabs in the rap game last year was Richy & Dom’s “It Ain’t Really Nuthin“and now we’ve got Boo Bonic featuring OPM’s chief once again. This joint really did it for me, too good. Keep an eye out for Bonic’s project coming out soon. 

Soulection always delivering amazing artists. I highly suggest keepin’ an eye on Esta & IAMNOBODI, apparently this is from the forthcoming EP. Can’t wait.

This young cat has been known for his old school Web 1.0 style in his videos and music. I first heard about him through his work as LOL Boys and the amazing song “Changes”. After his recognition on the internet lots of other artists starting coming out with the similar style and image with even Rihanna copying the style on her Saturday Night Live appearance. We’ve got our very own local DJ dorks that will get errybody started. WoBangs & DJ#Basedg0th (TLC), the homies Killing Time and Fortune fam member Blondtron! I’ve been addicted to MORRI$ for quite some time now and once I found out about the Bear Club I had to listen to the rest of the team. They all something to deliver but stay similar with the heavy bass use, I wouldn’t quite call this “Trap”. Him & Richman are a type of bass music I can’t quite label… I like that about them. It’s soft & chill yet with thumpin’ bass, check out the great music video above for “Affairs”. 

We are officially in May and Vancouver has a hand full of great shows coming up but thee one that i’m looking forward to this month is Kaytranada. This Montreal cat will be opening for Kastle at our very own Fortune Sound Club and i’m sure it’s going to be one to remember. Kastle played a show at Fortune not too long ago and it was a great show, this time it’s going to be even better. We’ve got locals 8prn & Blue Version getting things started.
