Today I started school and on the way there this morning I decided to take a full listen to Ryan Hemsworth’s first EP from WEDIDIT “Last Words”. Trying to put his sound in a genre is almost impossible like most artists coming out these days, which in my opinion is great. My favourite track besides the Baauer remix is “The Happy Mask Shop”, I instantly loved how it began with those thingys that tink from the wind. (Foreign moment, can’t remember the name for it). As the song builds it gives you a theatrical feel but then gets chopped up by great drums and trappy ticks. When the vocals kick in this song is at it’s fullest, giving you a real gospel feel along with the hip hop touches, he really has a sound of his own which still sounds relevant and incredibly catchy.
